Originally from Longview, Washington, Linda has called Pierce County home for more than 30 years. She and her husband, Jimmie, have lived in Lakewood for more than two decades. They have raised their college-age daughter, Dylan, in Pierce County and remain deeply connected to the community they love.
Before being elected Auditor, Linda served on the Lakewood City Council and the Pierce County Charter Review Commission. She began her career as a newspaper reporter and editor, an experience that shaped her belief in clear communication, accountability, and the importance of public trust. Those values continue to guide her work today.
Linda has extensive communications, government affairs and senior leadership experience in both public and private sectors.
She has worked for the cities of Tacoma and Federal Way, Pacific Lutheran University, Pierce County Library System, Comcast and was the Chief Communications Officer for the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services.
Linda brings strategic thinking, collaboration and a results-oriented mindset to the Auditor’s Office.
Linda is nationally accredited in two key areas that support the Auditor’s Office work. In 2025, she earned the prestigious elections administration accreditation (CERA), the highest professional achievement for election officials in the country.
She is a longtime communications professional, earning her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) certification in 2001. She was named Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2006 by her peers in the Puget Sound Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
Linda has a broad background of community service including serving on boards for City Club Tacoma, Communities for a Healthy Bay, and the Idlewild Elementary School PTA. During her time on the Lakewood City Council, she represented the city’s interests on the Regional South Sound Housing Affordability Partners (SSHAP) Executive Board, and on the Washington State Sex Offender Policy Board.
She currently co-chairs the Executive Steering Committee for VoteWA, the statewide voter registration database and information portal, and serves on the state’s Voting Systems Review Board. She was honored in 2025 with the Heavy Hitter Award for her ongoing role as co-chair of the Legislative Committee for the Washington State Association of County Auditors.
